Directions
1.) Put an x in the items in the left hand column of the
Inventory titled, What I Need .
After you have done that then go back and distribute
points
in the items in which you marked an x. Let the number of points illustrate
the amount of the need that you think you must have. Use all the points as you arbitrarily
distribute them. Don't use more than a total of 100 points accumulative for all
of the items.
2.) Put a
"y" in the items which reflect what you have in
the Inventory titled, My Current Situation Inventory.
After you have done that, go back and distribute points in
the items in which you checked. Let the number of points illustrate the
amount of the need that you think you must have. Use all the points as you arbitrarily
distribute them. Don't use more than a total of 100 points accumulative for all
of the items.
-
Finally, total the points for all items in each Inventory separately. For
example, Add all items listed separately as all ( P )'s, all (S's), all (B's), and all
(E's). Incidentally, the individual letters stand for the basic needs in Maslow's
Hierarchy of Needs which are listed as follows:
-
P=Physical, S=Security, B=Belonging,
E=Ego, and A=Actualization.
-
Compare the total of the points of each item in each inventory
which should
give you an idea of what your current needs are and how much the current situation
satisfies each of those needs. You have actually set up the necessary
information to construct two bar graphs in the next lesson.
